Kalamkari is a type of hand-painted textile, produced in parts of India. The word is derived from the Persian words kalam (pen) and kari (craftsmanship), meaning drawing with a pen. At Virachita we have a mind-blowing variety of Kalamkari designs done on sarees and blouses. These are painstakingly created from the scratch, right from the process of preparing the cloth on which the Kalamkari work is done. The Kalamkari designs, after painting, are fixed onto the fabrics with intricate Aari embroidery.
